Back on the train

It's June and it's been too long and I feel like I shouldn't been blogging at all. Haha. Truthfully, during confinement period I have so much time but so little will to log in and blog. I would rather spend the time browsing oh so many cute and pretty clothes for babies online. I shop and shop and just about everyday the Pos Laju van would appear at my parent's doorstep. This obsession includes my sister too and I feel that the postman didn't need to read the address anymore. He'll just have a first look at our name and already knows to which house it is. Also I've been spending more time on Instagram which I should add is sooo addictive. Plus it's just way too easy to take photos and share them there.

Most of my time was also spent on staring at my cute bundle of joy endlessly. I could just spend the whole day looking at her and not doing anything. Nothing at all..hmm..hmm (humming Bruno Mars's) It's amazing how much affection and love you could feel for another human being. Sometimes I feel like my heart could burst with all this love I have for her.

Apart from that, so many new things are happening in my life at the moment. Both me and hubby got promoted which means we have to pack and move. Move to a new state, a new house and new hospital. All of which happens right after my confinement ended. And remember, there's a third person moving along with us. Overall it feels like a new begining. So imagine how hectic and chaos our life was at that time. Alhamdulillah, together we managed to pull it off.

I was utterly nervous the first time I left my baby at the nursery. I cried even wishing I wouldn't have to. Wishing that I could look after her myself. It was just unfair to have a complete stranger feeding her, changing her nappies and cuddling her to sleep. Maybe one day I'll have the option to quit and be a fulltime housewife. But still having an income at the same time. The keyword is maybe. So we'll see.

So what's new about my princess? I would say there's not a day that passed by without any new things I learn about her or from her. She reached 6 months old last week. She gurgles, she grabs, she laughs and she smiles. Oh, how sweetly she smiles. Melts my heart everytime.

So here I am, back on the train again. Hop on and thank you for reading my journey.
Hello. I am the princess she's talking about. My name is Amina Zahra, 6month and 1week old. Loves to grab ummi's face and squeeze it with all my might. I also love to bite everything that I could grab. My favourite is the tv remote control. Ummi will go beserk everytime I bite into things. She's really obsessive about protecting me from bacterias, viruses, insects, bugs, infections, so on and so on. More so after I had bilateral herniotomy, attack of fit, and later developed fever and thrush. *Sigh* She will tell you the detailed story later I guess.

Ok Amina, time to pen off. Say 'see ya!' :)

On our princess

Born 19 December 2011 at 11.22pm

The day she was born

The day we brought her home

The day I caught her smiling in her sleep

More stories on her later eh. Right now I have a sweet baby to cuddle and tend to :)

The first akad

The first mini kenduri of Wani, my sister in law is done. Phew. Back to Taiping and working. Why it's mini kenduri? Because it is only the solemnization ceremony. The reception will be held in January next year. So now it's time to focus on the next event which is the akad and reception of my own sister, Uda in Taiping this coming weekend. Let's have a run through, shall we. The next week will be the reception on the groom side in KL. Another week later is the reception of Wani in Seremban and the week after that is the reception of Wani's husband side also in Seremban. See how many kenduris I have in line. Fuh.

Though it's just a feast for akad ceremony, the exhaustion was extreme. Because the food is not catered but self cooked. I think the cleaning up of plates and glasses, pots and pans and storing them away dry and clean was the most tiring. Plus it was held at night thus we worked hard to clear up everything until past midnight. The guest was estimated around 100 people but the turnout was way more. Nevertheless it was really really fun. There's warmth and laughter and I got to meet his side of the family again (a good chance to recall the names of the pakciks, makciks and cuzzies =p).

Pasangan pencuci pinggan mangkuk, periuk, talam, gelas, dulang, sudu, senduk, teko. Hehe.

She, who's reluctant with make up especially the fake eyelashes but was forced by the rest of us. Haha. I really respect Wani. I like how she is so moderate in everything. It doesn't mean she is conservative. Oh no, she is far from conservative. She's just following the rules of moderation as a muslim.

I love this picture. They look so sweet together. Congratulations to the both of you! Barakallah. May you guys have a wonderful blessed marriage throughout your life :)

Phew, hectic week it is. Full clinic on Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday was spent at Ipoh scouring last minute things for my sister's wedding. Only today the clinic seems to slow down a bit. Heck, I spoke too early. The patient's cards is just flowing in now. Guess this will be a quick entry then. Oh, did I mention that my youngest dearest 'busyuk' sister is getting married in one week?

The next few weeks will see me tripping back and forth from Taiping to Seremban to Kuala Lumpur and to Seremban again. Why? Because my sister and his sister decides to get married together. Well, not 'together' in term of word. It's together in this particular month of this particular year. The 'kenduris' will take place every weekend of December until early January. So it's not only the brides who spend the bulk of money getting married, Fazrul and me will also burn a hole in our pockets paying for his flight tickets. Haha!

But the situation makes it a really good fate to be meeting my husband again and again. In fact, I'll be heading to Seremban tonight with him too arriving from Kuching. Oh, be still my heart till you lay eyes on your love :)

Honeymoon unlimited

Olo! (You'd understand this if you've watched Megamind ;P) I'm currently at Kuching on a one week leave having an oh-so-exciting holiday with my husband. It's a month after our wedding and time seems to move slowly with him around. We're languorously enjoying this moment together.

I arrived on Friday straight from Penang. My man works here and Deepavali is not a public holiday here. So the evening after I arrived he held a small high tea for his colleagues at the clinic. And we got more wedding presents!

I've just realized that I'm a bad documenter. So many things have been happening in my life and some just pass away without words as memory. There are photos, yes. But with words we'll get the whole picture. Heck, I've been as far as New Zealand and I didn't have a proper journal on it. What a waste. I am determined more than ever now to jot down all the experience, memories, excitement, and the ups and downs life has to offer me. I wish to do this so that one day when I'm old and all shriveling but still acceptably pretty, while sipping lemon tea in my garden, I'd get to reminisce my life with my old and all shriveling but still handsome husband by my side.

I eat merely to put food out of my mind
~N.F. Simpson

Kelmarin kepingin burger tepi jalan. Tapi hampa sebab ronda-ronda lepas kerja satu gerai pun belum buka lagi. I don't know why tapi burger tepi jalan adalah sangat appealing bagi saya. Sedap dia lain ooo *drool*. Jadi semalam terus beli roti burger dan daging burger. Susah sangat aku buat sendiri je la. Pagi tadi gigih bangun awal buat burger. Wah, selalunya bangun tidur terus rushing hendak pergi kerja saja. Bangga betul hari ini makan breakfast hasil air tangan sendiri kat pantry klinik. Hee.

I like to eat. Amat sangat. I'm not choosy as well. Selagi halal saya suka cuba makan. If I like it then I'll really savour it. Fortunately, my husband pun sama. So, aktiviti kegemaran kami sambil jalan-jalan ialah makan. Buat apa pun mesti hendak makan. Terima kasih Ya Allah kerana kurniakan kepada hamba Mu nikmat makan.

People say I'm petite. Maybe now but not many people know that I've had an episode of chubbiness before and not to say overweight but certainly not an ideal weight for my height. At that time I was working in Temerloh. Eating outside is quite expensive so we cooked everyday. My housemate was a dietitian but she herself is a big eater. Hari-hari masak nasi without fail. Plus we're really good cook. Ehem. My regret was that I wasn't active physically compared to my student days. Also I'm not aware of my own increasing weight. I guess I'm too absorbed by how petite I am as people said. I became ignorant that however petite you are but when you eat more than what you need, you will become gemuk as well! Saya cuma tersedar bila satu hari di satu seminar kawan-kawan kolej yang lama tidak jumpa semuanya mencubit, meramas pipi dan lengan saya kerana geram dengan chubbiness saya. I was shocked literally.

Nowadays I watch what I eat especially carbs. Oleh kerana saya suka makan, saya kena cari jalan supaya dapat makan tapi dapat kawal berat badan. Usually I eat less on weekdays because it's easier to hold my appetite when I'm at work. Petang balik kerja pun jarang makan nasi. Lunch everyday is nasi seciput atau separuh, meat etc dan sayur banyak-banyak. Kadang-kadang tak makan nasi ganti dengan sup atau tomyam. Just to keep my tummy full. Jadi taktik saya ialah kurang makan pada hari kerja tapi enjoy makan pada weekends dan bila keluar dating dengan suami. So far masih berjaya.

Instant awesomeness

Hey, what's this? Miniature photos?

Among the hantaran from me to him is a thing which produces instant awesomeness. Instant beauty. Instant memory. Instant fun. Instant credit card? Er, nope. The size of the product is of a credit card though.

Looks fun enough already? So what is the thing?

Tadaa! This is Mr Fuji. Our new instant camera which develops mini prints instantly promising instant fun! Cool huh. Check it out here.

I absolutely had no idea that polaroid still exists. Thanks to hubby for finding out about this cutie. Well, this isn't exactly polaroid. But it is the closest to instant film photography. Wait a minute. It is instant film photography! Isn't it exciting?! I love to watch the film develop before my eyes.

My first option was the
Fuji Instax Wide Instant Camera because the film would be bigger. But upon seeing the monstrous and bulky size of it, I don't think I could carry it everywhere easily. So we bought the Instax Mini instead. Turns out the credit card size film is not so much a drawback. We absolutely love it!

Stick it anywhere. Make a scrapbook. Be creative. It's limitless fun!

Today was a fairytale

18 days has passed. Oh my, it seems so fast. I am a wife.

I can still feel the beating in my chest waiting for the aqad moment. I can still taste the sweetness of the moment we’re solemnized as husband and wife. I can still feel the fluttering of my stomach holding his hand for the first time. I blushed shyly remembering his first kiss on my forehead.

We had a simple yet sweet and romantic wedding. I feel like a princess united with her prince. It didn’t have to be grand, I don’t need that. What’s important is we’re celebrating our love with family and friends being there.

I pray for the eternity of our union. I pray for His blessing throughout our life. I pray our love growing stronger as we love Him together. I pray for the bliss of our journey together. I pray and I pray.

I’m just back home from his town. I’m back to my own hometown. Back to our love nest, previously just my room, which feels lonely now because he is not here with me. We are yet waiting the posting transfer result. The only soothing fact is my parents are here with me.

To my dear husband, just know that I love you. I didn’t say it before. In fact I’ve never say it before. But from this moment, nothing will stop me of saying it over and over. I am done saving it. Because now I am yours and you are mine =)

Everything about this song is great. Love the music, love the lyrics, love the voice and the upbeat.

Everything about the video clip is great too. Love the art, love the story, love the feeling.

Sunshine

When I wake up in the morning
Sunshine's falling on my skin
And I call you up to tell you
What a happy mood I'm in

Feel the rhythm in my body
And sing is all I wanna do
I feel the day will bring me sunshine
For it's another day with you

_Nikki Daniels_

Sudah sebulan dua hari kami bertunang. Tapi terasa macam baru minggu lepas saja cincin disarung. Hehe.

Jadi malas mahu pakai cincin. Nanti kena pakai buka pakai buka. Kalau tak buka takut rosak kena Surgi Scrub.

Tapi selepas dirisik dan bertunang, semangat mahu pakai cincin. Hehe. Saya suka cincin tunang saya. Suka amat. Terima kasih sweetheart =)

Sekarang sudah bulan tiga. Persiapan baru beberapa peratus. Hmm, banyaknya benda perlu fikir dan buat. I must say we're going through a most exciting and sweet journey in our life. Come on wak! Brainstorm! Hehe.

Flowers really do intoxicate me.
~ Vita Sackville-West

Last Saturday, for the first time in my life I got a bouquet of roses from someone special. Hehe. From the start of our relationship, he has never given me any flowers though he knows how much I love them. When I asked him why, he said that it's because giving flowers for him is such a special gesture that he wants to save it for a special time only. Hmm..ok, I thought.

So, what's the special occasion last week? Well, it's the one week anniversary of our engagement. Hehe. Since he's working so far away, I never thought I had the chance to meet him again that fast. Thankfully he has to come home again for a meeting at HKL. The roses are lovely, in our favourite colour. Thank you dear. Now I'm intoxicated. Ngee~

Yes, I'm now engaged. The ceremony was simple, attended by families. I tried to keep everything simple too. Yet, it was a very lovely affair. A special day to be kept in our heart forever. Big thanks to my family for everything.

Hmm, being engaged means that now I have to prepare myself with the coming responsibilities. I have to learn more and improve myself especially on 'hukum hakam' either syariatullah or sunnatullah. Hopefully I'll be able to do that. It's a lifelong learning after all.

InsyaAllah the wedding will be held in this year. Do pray for us too. May we all lead a blissful life under His guidance. Amin rabbal alamin..

~Datang bersama hajat di hati..

It's been 6th days since Aidilfitri. He came today with his parents to 'beraya'. Turns out it was more than that. Such a sweet surprise. I couldn't help blushing. No, I'm not engaged yet. This is just the first step. I'm still happily smiling, looking at the first ring. =)

So I'm listening for the weather to predict the coming day
Leave all thought of expectation to the weather man
No it doesn't really matter what it is he has to say
'Cause tomorrows keep on blowing in from somewhere

Am going for an awaited journey tomorrow. No, wait. It's past 12 o'clock. It's today! Woot! So excited=)

If I had a single flower for every time I think about you,

I could walk forever in my garden.

:: Roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty. Did you know that the rose is the national flower of England and the United States, as well as being the symbol of England Rugby, and of the Rugby Football Union. Not that I know that much about rugby. Hehe. Another interesting fact is Oregon counts "City of Roses" among its nicknames, and holds an annual Rose Festival. Wow, let's go to Oregon! =p (Wikipedia)
